<section>對(duì)于大多數(shù)大三、大四才準(zhǔn)備留學(xué)的同學(xué)而言,可能大部分背景都已經(jīng)基本定型,很難再有什么大的提升了。盡管如此,對(duì)于同樣的背景,采用不同的申請(qǐng)策略,卻往往會(huì)收獲截然不同的結(jié)果。</section>

<section>我們今天故事的主人公D同學(xué),正是<strong>及時(shí)調(diào)整了申請(qǐng)策略,將原本的不利因素轉(zhuǎn)化為有利因素,才接連收獲了曼大和愛大的錄取。</strong></section>

<section>D同學(xué)本科就讀于石河子大學(xué)電子信息工程系,GPA 3.71,排名全系前5%。在本科期間,D同學(xué)還積極參加了大創(chuàng)、挑戰(zhàn)杯、中國(guó)大學(xué)生計(jì)算大賽等多個(gè)競(jìng)賽,且都有獲獎(jiǎng),并且擁有5個(gè)軟件著作權(quán),<strong>軟實(shí)力可以說是相當(dāng)優(yōu)秀了</strong>。<strong>美中不足的是D同學(xué)的本科學(xué)校</strong>,盡管也是211大學(xué),但是網(wǎng)大排名僅267名,相比其他top 985、211的同學(xué)來說,顯然還是不占優(yōu)勢(shì)的。</section>

<section>去年5月份,懷著對(duì)香港地區(qū)名校的憧憬,D同學(xué)在朋友的介紹下找到了我們。盡管D同學(xué)的本科背景申請(qǐng)香港地區(qū)不占優(yōu)勢(shì),但我們還是充分尊重D同學(xué)的想法,為他制定了以港三所為主的申請(qǐng)組合,并建議他先進(jìn)行雅思考試的準(zhǔn)備。</section>

<section>到了去年的7、8月份,令人遺憾的是,D同學(xué)并沒能在此前的雅思考試中取得理想的成績(jī),這也讓他的香港申請(qǐng)之路變得更加困難重重。同時(shí),受當(dāng)時(shí)香港局勢(shì)的影響,D同學(xué)產(chǎn)生了更換申請(qǐng)地區(qū)的想法。針對(duì)這個(gè)想法,我們的顧問老師在仔細(xì)評(píng)估了英國(guó)、新加坡、香港地區(qū)的相關(guān)專業(yè)后,建議D同學(xué)將申請(qǐng)調(diào)整為英國(guó)地區(qū)的專業(yè)。一方面,相較于港新地區(qū),<strong>英國(guó)學(xué)校更重視申請(qǐng)者的本科成績(jī)和軟件經(jīng)歷而非本科學(xué)校背景</strong>,這對(duì)于D同學(xué)來說無疑是更加有利的。另一方面,<strong>英國(guó)學(xué)校無需在申請(qǐng)時(shí)遞交語言成績(jī)</strong>,D同學(xué)也可以有更多的時(shí)間準(zhǔn)備雅思考試。同時(shí),D同學(xué)之后的規(guī)劃是繼續(xù)讀博或者讀二碩,相較于港新地區(qū),<strong>英國(guó)的博士和二碩申請(qǐng)難度明顯會(huì)低一些,且如果D同學(xué)在第一個(gè)碩士階段表現(xiàn)良好,之后將有很大希望就讀G5名校,</strong>這無疑可以進(jìn)一步提升他的學(xué)校背景。 通過和D同學(xué)的深入溝通,我們最終為他制定了<strong>以伯明翰和格拉斯哥為保底,以愛大、曼大、帝國(guó)理工為沖刺項(xiàng)的申請(qǐng)組合。</strong></section>

<section>之后,我們便進(jìn)入了文書準(zhǔn)備階段。D同學(xué)的科研、競(jìng)賽經(jīng)歷豐富,但實(shí)習(xí)經(jīng)歷相比要薄弱很多。在一開始的個(gè)人陳述提綱中,D同學(xué)因?yàn)槿狈Ω吆鹆康膶?shí)習(xí),便一共只給到了我們一段大創(chuàng)的經(jīng)歷。其實(shí),<strong>在工科專業(yè)的申請(qǐng)中,科研、競(jìng)賽的重要性往往是要高過實(shí)習(xí)的。</strong>因此,我們便建議D同學(xué)再選取挑戰(zhàn)杯“智能滅火車”設(shè)計(jì)的經(jīng)歷進(jìn)行詳細(xì)挖掘,來體現(xiàn)他的電子專業(yè)知識(shí)和編程能力。</section>

<section>經(jīng)過我們的共同努力,10月初,D同學(xué)的所有文書最終定稿。之后,我們第一時(shí)間為D同學(xué)陸續(xù)遞交了所有5個(gè)學(xué)校的申請(qǐng)。經(jīng)過一個(gè)多月的等待,<strong>曼大、伯明翰、格拉斯哥、愛大的錄取接踵而至</strong>。目前,D同學(xué)正在專心進(jìn)行雅思的備考,同時(shí),我們也在焦急地等待著帝國(guó)理工的消息。</section>
