TOEFL
For international applicants, a minimum score of 550 out of 667 maximum possible is required on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a minimum 213 score on the computer-based TOEFL (maximum 300), or 79 on the internet-based TOFEL.
IELTS
The minimum International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) score is a 6.5. All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written English.
GRE
An average Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score on the verbal, quantitative and analytical sections that is greater than the 50th percentile.

Please use this statement to help us understand how you have come to be interested in philosophy, what special challenges you might have faced, what relevant experiences you might have had, and what aspirations you have for the future. In doing so, explain briefly the nature of your study in philosophy or related fields thus far, your current primary areas of interest (if known), what studies you would like to pursue in graduate school, and whether there are any Kentucky faculty with whom you would especially like to work. GPA
An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate work and, an overall GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in all graduate work (if appilcable).
Fee
Domestic applicants (U.S. citizens or resident aliens) must pay a $65 application fee; international applicants must pay a $75 fee.
RL
Three letters of recommendation. Make sure that you register your recommenders when you fill out the online application, indicating clearly on the registration form the academic position of the recommender or, if the recommender is not an academic, indicating the individual's current position and relation to you or your work. The system will automatically send recommenders a message with instructions for uploading their recommendation letters.
