The Department of Economics Master of Science degree program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in both the public and private sector. The programs also offers excellent preparation for students considering further work in a Ph.D. program either at the University of Delaware or elsewhere. All students complete courses in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and econometrics. Students take at least three of the five graduate econometrics courses offered. This degree is ideal for students who have majored in Economics as undergraduates and who seek more specialized training in applied econometrics and economic theory.
In addition to the theory and econometrics courses, students take electives in a wide range of fields, such as international monetary economics, economic development, labor economics, public finance, industrial organization and regulation, financial economics, and natural resource and environmental economics.
