The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers Ph.D. and M.S. degrees, as well as two professional degrees .
GW’s doctoral program is designed to prepare the student for a career of creative scholarship by providing focused knowledge in the student’s specialty area and guidance for research.Students in the master’s program learn sophisticated computer architecture and integrated circuit design techniques using industry-standard computer-aided design tools. The master’s program offers a flexible schedule that includes late afternoon and evening classes as well as the ability to choose a thesis or non-thesis degree option.
Those who would like to pursue a graduate certificate will acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills in the advances of computer systems architecture and networking, and in the rapidly growing use of superscalar microprocessors, real-time embedded systems, VLSI and ASIC design modules, digital signal processors and networked computing platforms. Students may transfer all of their certificate courses to the M.S. program if they decide to get a master's degree.
