TOEFL
Your TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test. These scores represent the minimum required for applicants to graduate programs at UCLA.
For the internet-based TOEFL (TOEFL iBT), the following are the expected scores for each section:
Writing: 25
Speaking: 24
Reading: 21
Listening: 17
IELTS
Your IELTS overall band score should be at least 7.0. 7.0 is the minimum required.
GRE
The Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Applicants should take the exams no later than October or November. We will not accept GRE scores that have expired after three years the test was taken. For further information about exams, please contact Educational Testing Service at (609)-771-7670 or visit www.ets.org. You should instruct ETS to send a hard-copy of your scores to the Department. The GRE school code is 4837; the department code is 2602. While there is no minimum GRE score, admitted applicants typically score at 80% or above in all areas (4.5 or higher for Analytical Writing).

A statement of purpose, explaining their background for graduate study in the specialization of their choice. Please include immediate and long-range goals in the field in the statement. Statements of purpose should primarily focus on intellectual interests and research plans, though autobiographical material can be useful where it is clearly relevant. The statement of purpose must be a maximum of 2 pages double spaced.
GPA
To be accepted, applicants typically have a GPA of at least a 3.25 and competitive GRE scores.

Three letters of recommendations from professors they have taken courses in or have worked closely with to verify the applicant’s academic record, strengths, and interest in our department.
Transcript
