Your name as it will appear on the ASU Graduate College application
The ASU Application Reference Number assigned to you upon submission of your online application and/or your 10-digit ASU Identification Number
Your personal background, including formative events and circumstances such as extracurricular activities, honors, achievements and community activities
Work experience, including credentials you have from your hands-on and professional experiences
Descriptions of the research projects you have conducted and your personal research interests
Other personal attributes and qualities
Qualifications and reasons for interest in the W. P. Carey PhD in business administration with a specialization in finance
How obtaining a PhD will help you achieve your personal career goals and objectives

Applicants to the PhD in business administration program with a specialization in finance are required to submit three letters of recommendation from academic references.
You will be asked in the ASU Graduate College online application for the names and e-mail addresses of the three recommenders, which you will enter via the application tab titled “Supplemental.” Your recommenders will receive an e-mail with a link that will direct them to submit their recommendations electronically to ASU Graduate College for your file. Please inform your recommenders that the online submission process is the only method for submission.
Sources of recommendation letters
Individuals providing letters of recommendation should be able to speak to your personal qualities, career focus and potential for success both in the graduate business classroom and in a future career as a professor of finance at major research university. Your recommenders should know you personally and be familiar with your academic and career histories, credentials, leadership strengths and professional aspirations.
Transcript
One set of sealed, official transcripts from every college and university you attended must be forwarded to the ASU Graduate College. Applicants should either have the institutions they attended forward the transcripts directly to the ASU Graduate College, or obtain these documents in sealed envelopes from the institutions and then mail them to the ASU Graduate College.
